I started cooking seriously in college. I have always been an extrovert who loves group gatherings. It’s no secret that food brings people together and I discovered that improving my culinary skills could elevate a group experience. I have not met anyone who can resist smiling when they taste something delicious or try an irresistible cocktail. Food not only brings people together, but can have an overwhelmingly positive impact on them.
I also discovered that food could be an escape from the business of the world. As soon as I don an apron, my focus is entirely on whatever I am about to make. Cooking is not only a fun gift to others, but it’s also a creative outlet for me. It’s a useful target of my perfectionism and offers a fairly quick feedback cycle. The recipes on this website are all dishes that I would or have cooked for a meal by myself. They are also all inspired by some dish I’ve had in a restaurant or seen on TV or in a recipe book.
Over the years, friends and family have asked for the recipes for the dishes I’ve made for them. Unfortunately, the recipes and ingredient list almost always exist solely in my head. The quantities are also rarely known even to me – I do everything by sight and taste. So while I have tried to formalize my dishes into these recipes, I encourage you to let my recipes inspire you, but let taste actually guide you. If my 1/2 teaspoon of salt doesn’t taste like enough, then it’s not enough – add more!
Hope you get inspired to cook more!
